Lewis Army Museum

The museum will re-open at the end of August 2017. We look forward to sharing our stories with the public once again.

The Museum’s exhibits and galleries are in the process of being updated at

the moment, but the basic themes will remain the same :

  • Soldiers of the Early Pacific Northwest Gallery – documents the role of thUnited States Army in developing the Pacific Northwest. Beginning with the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery in 1804 through the American Lake Maneuvers of early 20th century.

  • Lewis Gallery – interprets the establishment of Camp Lewis and the history of Fort Lewis over the years.

  • Hall of Valor – a gallery chronicling the role and story of the individual Soldier, both U.S. and enemy, from World War I through the present.

The museum also features approximately an acre of outdoor exhibits which

include a UH-1 “Huey” Helicopter, various experimental vehicle prototypes

and armored vehicles.
